Require new members to invite a set number of people before they can chat. Daily limits, hard mode, exemptions, and leaderboards keep your group growing organically.
Growing a Telegram group from zero is one of the hardest challenges for any community builder. You can share your invite link on social media, post in directories, and ask friends to join, but nothing accelerates growth quite like having your existing members bring in new ones. The Force Add system turns every new member into a potential recruiter by requiring them to invite a specific number of people before they gain full posting rights. This creates a viral growth loop where each new member brings in more members, who in turn bring in even more.
The key insight is that people who were invited by someone they know are far more likely to be active, engaged participants than people who found the group through a random link. When your friend invites you to a group, you join because you trust their judgment, and you are more likely to participate because you already know someone there. The Force Add system channels this social trust into measurable growth, giving your group a steady stream of new members who arrive with a built in connection to the community.
The /max command sets the number of invites each new member must complete before they can chat. Set it to 3, 5, or 10 depending on how aggressive you want the growth to be. A lower number is more welcoming and less likely to frustrate new members, while a higher number creates faster growth but may turn away people who do not want to invite others. Setting it to 0 disables the gate entirely, returning the group to open access.
The /maxmode command controls whether the requirement applies to new members only or to everyone in the group. New mode is recommended for most groups because it does not disrupt existing members who joined before the gate was activated. All mode applies the requirement retroactively, which is useful when you want to flush out inactive members and rebuild your community with people who are willing to contribute to growth.
To prevent spamming and keep growth looking natural, the /daily command sets a maximum number of invites each member can send per day. This stops overenthusiastic members from mass inviting random people just to meet their quota, which would flood your group with low quality members who leave shortly after joining. A daily limit of 3 to 5 invites per member keeps growth steady and sustainable.
The daily reset happens automatically every 24 hours by default, but you can customize the reset period with /dailyminute if you want a shorter or longer cycle. The /dailymode command lets you switch between the standard 24 hour window and a custom interval. If you need to reset a specific user count or clear all daily counts at once, /dailyreset and /resetdaily handle those operations.
When hard mode is enabled with /hardmode 1, members who have not met their invite quota are completely restricted from the group. They cannot send messages, react to messages, or interact with the chat in any way until they fulfill the requirement. This is the strictest enforcement level and is recommended for groups that want maximum growth velocity.
With hard mode disabled, members who have not met their quota can still read messages and see what is happening in the group, but they cannot post. This softer approach lets new members get a feel for the community before they start inviting, which can improve the quality of their invites because they understand what kind of group they are asking their friends to join.
Not every member should be subject to the invite gate. Admins, verified users, and trusted community members can be exempted with /addexempt. Exempted members can chat freely without needing to invite anyone, which is useful for group moderators, content creators, and other key members who contribute to the community in ways other than recruitment.
The /text command lets you customize the warning message that new members receive when they try to chat without meeting their invite quota. A clear, friendly message explaining why the gate exists and how to fulfill the requirement will get much better results than a generic system message. You can also use /addremain to let members check how many invites they still need at any time.
Gamification drives engagement. The /addtop command shows the top 50 inviters of all time, creating a competitive leaderboard that encourages members to invite more people. Members can check their own invite count and rank with /invites, and the /farewards command shows any rewards tied to invite milestones.
Leaderboards work because they tap into natural human competitiveness. When members see that someone else has invited 50 people, they want to climb the rankings too. This turns the invite requirement from a chore into a game, and the group benefits from the increased recruitment activity. You can feature the top inviters in your group description or give them special roles to further incentivize participation.
